About this site¶

Linkawho? is inspired by Jerry's Guide to the World Wide Web, the hand-curated directory that later became Yahoo!. Like the original guide, Linkawho? aims to help people discover interesting and useful corners of the Internet through human curation rather than algorithms.

Search engines¶

Startpage - Somewhat more privacy-respecting Google alternative.
DuckDuckGo - More privacy-respecting Google alternative using Bing search results.
DuckDuckGo Lite - DuckDuckGo but very lightweight. (SIDENOTE: Great for slow connections!)
DuckDuckGo NoAI - DuckDuckGo but filters out some AI stuff.
DuckDuckGo HTML - DuckDuckGo but in plain HTML.

Coding¶

Github - The classic web-based Git solution - going farther than Git.
VSCode Download - Download VSCode.
VSCode Online - A somewhat restricted VSCode without need for download!
Google Antigravity - Google's family of tools for AI coding.
NPM JS - Website for NodeJS' "npm" package manager.
PyPi - Find Python packages - typically installable via "pip".
NodeJS - The desktop Javascript engine and variant based on Chrome's V8 engine.
Python - The standard programming language for Toontown and AI projects alike... and more!
Cloudflare - Provides free public-facing tunneling and SSL certs.
Tailscale - Provides private (via VPN) and public-facing (with subdomain) tunneling. Great for homelabbers.

Apple - The most user-friendly and privacy-respecting big tech company.

ChatGPT - The most common LLM. (SIDENOTE: Very smart, even in the free tier.)
Gemini - Google's LLM. (SIDENOTE: Smarter than when it first launched.)

XBOX Cloud Gaming - The best cloud gaming service for controller players. (SIDENOTE: This is my opinion. Requires subscription.)
GeForce Now - The best cloud gaming service for the PC enthusiast or for those who want a decent free option. Also works with XBOX Game Pass games. (SIDENOTE: This is my opinion. Free option has longer wait times and is limited to 1 hour per gaming session.)
